There are only actually three recurring questions:
Q: When is the event?
A: 26th September. See the Nine Edges site for details.
Q: Is that you in the photograph in the “About” page?
A: Yes. See the next question.
Q: Who took the photograph in the “About” page?
A: I did. I took a camera, tripod and remote control up onto the moors and ran past it a few times, firing the remote, until I was happy with result. Likewise with the picture of me in the header photograph. There’s also a sheep in that photograph.
Further one-off questions that merit publishing:
Q: Why did you decide on running?
A: The implication seems to be that I am not best suited to running. And I’m not. I chose it as an event because I like running, especially off-road in the wilderness. I did think about a triathlon but I don’t much fancy an event where there is dressing and undressing against the clock.
Q: Is your blog just a blow-by-blow account of your training?
A: Thanks for your question Dad. No it isn’t.
Q: Do you not get bored when you’re running?
A: Again, Dad, thanks for your question. No I don’t.
Q: Why didn’t you include a climb on each of the edges, as some of the competitors are doing?
A: I haven’t been climbing much lately and I just don’t fancy nine climbs (even if they are all severe) on top of 20-odd miles of running.
Q: What time do you hope to do it in?
A: I’ve fought shy of telling people my target so far. My training suggests that I might manage under four hours, but it will be tough.
My Dad says you’re really fit and you should try a climb on each of the edges.
I can suggest some Pokemon powers to help you.
What power do you think is your favourite, and what would your prefered attack be against Bronzong?
Thanks Edward. As you know, Bronzong has the power to bring rain, so my attack would be to use an umbrella.
